Czech Baby Names

Czech is a West Slavic language spoken in the Czech Republic. Also known as Bohemian in the 19th century, Czech is similar to Slovak, Polish and Sorbian. In the Czech language many words do not have vowels, thus l’s and r’s tend to be the “vowel” in a syllable. Most Czech parents remain conservative in baby name choices, preferring traditional or historically acceptable names. If you desire a Czech name for your baby, you may find some of the earliest Czech names are a bit unusual and difficult for some Westerners or native English speakers to pronounce. More modern Czech names such as Anna or Karolina are easier to pronounce and spell. Baby Name Network has many unique baby names and name meanings you are sure to find helpful.
